Aaahhhh!!! The smell of Spring, the warmth of air, and the lengthened days...all refreshing and renewing for the soul. All things in hibernation awaken. New life is given unto the world. This is Spring, as we know it.
Pollen for the birds and the bees
Today, March 20th, marks the Vernal Equinox, the first day of Spring 2014 (as the astronomical and astrological calendars know it). On the Vernal Equinox, days and nights are approximately equal. The tilt of the Earth, relative to the sun, is in balance at the equator.
You may be experiencing Spring in freezing, snow-mounded grounds or you may be experiencing Spring with the flowers in bloom and the air smelling of sunshine.
At our house, Spring is here when the air smells of jasmine as it permeates our house inside and out and when our Japanese Maple has sprung forth new leaves.
Spring is all about change and new beginnings. As such, today seemed appropriate to open Scarlet Elfcup to the world.
